I’m guessing you’ve done this before and you don’t need the pros and cons of subscribing (incidentally what are the cons, exactly)… but here is some boilerplate for you to enjoy. Or trash. Or mock. I’ll leave that in your capable hands…

Why subscribe? Why not?!

Subscribe to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never* miss an update.

* Just a quick pop-in to let you know that I’m not putting any pressure on you. “Never” is a really big word. And I don’t won’t you to be intimidated by it. I get it. I don’t check email every day. Hell. Sometime I don’t even check it every week. Yes. I’m a rebel. I know. Disconnecting is good. Shit I might even be the core purpose of this newsletter. Or one of the core purposes. Porpoises? They never check email… The point is sneak out. Wander around. Fuck email. It’ll be there when you are ready. Sitting in your inbox will be the latest Wanderneuring update. Stewing? Lurking? Well, no matter how it hangs out on your IMAP server, it will be there. Let’s get back to the boilerplate…

Stay up-to-date or just stay up.

You won’t have to worry about missing anything**. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox.

** Ok. Me again. Let’s clarify “anything” a little more precisely. If you are expecting me to remind you about that Zoom call tomorrow afternoon, I fear you will be disappointed. Mom’s birthday? Yeah… no. Rent, bank overdrafts, application deadlines, concert tickets, office mate coffee orders, celestial events, and calls from Tinder dates are all outside the scope of what the boilerplate implies by missing “anything”. Let’s keep this focused on wanderneuring, shall we?! Hell any expectation that there is going to be anything approaching timely, regular, or predictable in regards to Wanderneuring and especially any semblance of a publish schedule probably would be best shoved up an orifice. Ok. That got a little heated…

Be part of a community† of people who share your interests.

I’m way more comfortable with this idea. In fact “community” is something I’m keenly interested in. So if making connections with people, and by people I mean more specifically me, then I think this whole Substack-thing is going to work out quite well. In fact, I’m feeling kinda warm and tingly right now just savoring all the community-ing and sharing we are going to be doing.

What’s in it for you?!

Like most things in life, you should expect to get out of this relationship whatever you put in plus a little more. I mean, I have some responsibility here too. Right? I share my thoughts, plans, observations, maps, waypoints, etc. Yours to consider, use, improve, counter, laugh at (or with), and share further. I’d like to know what you think. Really. I’m not just saying that. I might call you out on your bullshit. Or I might incorporate your idea into my ideas.

All that for free (at least for now)! So get it while it’s good, or at least at the low, low price of $0.

Well. There you have it. Subscribe already…

Love,

Dave
